.To close the regulator hole in the common-rail high-pressur pump in order to determine if the faulty part is the regulator or the pump.

.Is the pump pressure is too low, the regulator is replaced by a corresponding regulator dummy. Remains pressure low the pump is damaged. When the pressure returns to normal means that the regulator is defective.
